Summer Meeting: Thursday 13th August

Our next meeting will be hosted by Pinsent Masons, 139 Fountainbridge, Edinburgh, from 18:30 - 20:30 on Thursday 13th August. The theme for the summer meeting is employment and mediation.

Our speakers are Iain Barton, a trained mediator and Associate at Semple Fraser specialising in employment law and Maggie Davidson, a trained mediator and HR officer for The University of Dundee. They will each look at how they use mediation in their day to day work as well as considering possible future reform in mediation and employment law, particularly in light of the recently published ACAS report. We will then have a Q & A session with the speakers and members of the audience, hosted by Sarah Chilton, solicitor in the employment law team at Murray Beith Murray.

The YMG has an open door policy- anyone with an interest may attend - you do not have to have a specailist knowledge / interest in employment law or HR. Many of the issues that will be discussed, particularly with regard to future reform of the use of mediation in employment law / HR sectors, can be transposed into other subject areas.
